R&E stands for Rock & Elegant. The theme of this jacket is: “Both are my true self.”
R&E = Rock & Elegant。「どちらも私の素顔」がこのジャケットのテーマ。

Inspired by the safari look?sturdy yet flexible, with a sense of adventure?this cropped jacket was born.
堅固でいながらも柔軟、冒険をイメージさせられるサファリルックにインスパイアされて制作したショート丈ジャケットです。

The front opening is finished with studs and metal hooks for a rock-inspired feel, while gathers on the bodice and sleeve tops add a touch of elegance.
前開きはスタッズと金属フックでロックな表情に、身頃と袖山にはギャザーを施してエレガントな雰囲気に仕上げました。

It’s been lightly washed to bring out a natural wrinkled texture. The fabric also passed a two-week color transfer test.
自然なシワ感を出すために軽くウォッシュ加工を施してあります。素材は2週間の色移りテストをクリアしています。

The cuffs are accented with metal buttons.
袖口カフスは金属ボタン仕様。

Rolling up the sleeves gives it a more casual, safari-like vibe.
袖をまくるとサファリ感アップ。

Personally, I like wearing it open for a laid-back style,but I also think it looks cute worn closed over a bra or tube top, showing off your Smart Doll’s adorable belly button.
個人的には前を開けてラフなスタイルが好みですが、ブラかチューブトップのインナーを合わせて前を閉め、スマートドールの可愛いおへそを見せる、へそ出しルックも可愛いかなと思います。

As for bottoms, it goes well with mini skirts and elegant long skirts, too.
ボトムスはミニスカートはもちろんのこと、エレガントなロングスカートも似合うかなと思います。

Because of the jacket’s cropped length, the woven label would stand out too much if placed on the outer surface, so we chose to attach it on the inside instead.
We respect the voices of Smart Doll fans who prefer a realistic look and say, “I don’t want the woven label on the outside,” so for some items, we plan to go with a label-on-the-inside approach.
このジャケットはショート丈の為、織りネームを表に付けると目立つので、裏側に付ける仕様にしました。「織りネームは表に付けて欲しくない」というリアルテイストフリークさんのご意見を尊重して、アイテムによっては織ネームを裏付け仕様にしようと思います。

■BEHIND THE STORY OF PRODUCTION | 制作プチ裏話

As I mentioned in the text, this jacket was inspired by the safari look. At first, we set out to design a classic safari jacket, churning out prototype after prototype. But they felt so ordinary just short jackets with pockets. Not terrible, but they didn’t set my heart racing. Something was missing. While I was stuck, craving that spark of excitement, I stumbled across a blouse bursting with vertical gathers. That was the game-changer. I shifted gears, weaving those gathers into the design, and here’s our little secret we crafted about 12 prototypes to get them just right. Initially, I was all about that “safari vibe!” but honestly, I think we created something truly special. In Team MarukoHalu, our design crew, we call it “the fusion of fierce and adorable,” a nod to its bold yet utterly charming vibe.

このジャケットはサファリルックからインスパイアされたことを本文内でお伝えしました。最初はサファリジャケットそのものをデザインして、試作を重ねていましたが、何か普通というか、ポケットがついた、ただのショート丈ジャケットになってしまい、悪くはないけど心が動かない…、という感じでした。何かが足りない。キュンとくるようなワクワクを感じられずにいる中、たまたま縦方向にギャザーがたっぷり施されたブラウスを発見。それをヒントに方向転換して、このジャケットに辿り着きました。ギャザーが納得できる感じに入るまで、12回程試作したのは内緒の話。最初は「サファリ感！」とか思っていたのですが、個人的にはとても素敵な作品が完成したと思っています。チームMarukoHalu内では「最強と最可愛の同居」って呼んでいます。
