Velveteen Voyage Jacket
We created a short jacket for Smart Doll with a casual flair, using glossy and elegant velveteen material.
艶のあるエレガントな別珍素材を使ってカジュアルな雰囲気のスマートドール用ショート丈ジャケットを作りました。
The design theme of this jacket is “A Fusion of Casual and Elegant.” The sub-theme is “A fitting jacket for a quiet, sophisticated journey.”
このジャケットのデザインテーマは「カジュアルとエレガントの融合」。サブテーマは「上品に、静かな旅を楽しむためのジャケット」です。
Velveteen’s charm lies in its subtle sheen when it catches the light, and its deep colors that change expression depending on the angle. It’s a material that has a presence but is never overly flashy, possessing a calm and gentle demeanor. We planned the “Velveteen Voyage Jacket” with the desire to create a jacket that’s stylish and adorable using this very material.
別珍は、光を受けた時の控えめな艶と、角度によって表情を変える深みのある色合いが魅力。存在感はあるのに派手すぎず、穏やかな佇まいを持つ素材です。そんな別珍で“かっこ可愛い”ジャケットを作りたくて企画したのが、この Velveteen Voyage Jacket です。
The base is a double-breasted Pea coat style. We kept the design minimal, subtly accenting it with clean panel seams and wide stitching. We balanced the overall look with casual elements to prevent it from becoming too formal.
ベースはダブルブレスト（前ボタンが縦2列に並ぶ）Pコート。加飾はせず、切り替えラインと幅広のステッチでさりげなくデザインにアクセントを加えました。エレガントになりすぎないよう、カジュアルな要素で全体のバランスを取りました。

Collar | 衿
The jacket features a classic turn-down collar,
衿は折り返し衿。
carefully balanced in width and angle for a clean, natural look.
細すぎず、幅広すぎず、程よいバランスになるよう角度を調整しました。
Double-breasted | ダブルブレスト
The front body features a wide overlap and a double-breasted specification with two rows of buttons.
前身頃は重なりが広く、ボタンが2列に並ぶダブルブレスト仕様。
The front buttons are realistic metal buttons.
前ボタンはリアリティーのある金属ボタン仕様です。
Front panel seams | 前身頃切り替え
The panel seams on the front body serve both as darts to create a three-dimensional shape and as an accent as a design line.
前身頃の切り替えは、立体感を生むダーツの役割と、デザインラインとしてのアクセントを兼ねています。
They are embellished with wide stitching, which adds a casual touch.
カジュアルな雰囲気を演出する幅広ステッチで装飾しました。
Cuffs | 袖口カフス
The cuffs are classical wide cuffs.
袖口はクラシカルな幅広カフス。
The result is a simple yet sophisticated look.
シンプルながら上品な印象に仕上げました。
■Styling | 着こなし
When styled, closing the front gives a composed impression,

while leaving it open creates a rough and light impression.
前を開ければラフで軽やかな印象に。
Although it is a simple item, it certainly has a strong presence. The atmosphere can change dramatically depending on the bottoms you pair it with, and the possibilities are vast.
シンプルなアイテムではありますが、存在感はしっかり。合わせるボトムスによって雰囲気の変化は未知数です（たぶん）。

Fabric care instructions | 生地のお手入れ方法
Velveteen is a fabric where dust is easily noticeable and the nap of the surface is prone to shedding. If dust is noticeable, do not use adhesive tape; instead, lightly brush along the nap with a soft-tipped brush.
別珍は埃が目立ちやすく表地の毛が抜けやすい生地です。埃が目立つ場合は粘着テープなどは使用せず、毛先の柔らかいブラシで毛並みに沿って軽く払ってください。

■BEHIND THE STORY OF PRODUCTION | 制作プチ裏話
This is a piece we finally managed to create after a strong desire to make a short-length jacket using a napped material. We sourced various materials like velour and velvet and conducted color-stain tests, but their compatibility with soft vinyl made it difficult to pass. Nevertheless, we didn’t give up and repeated tests with many types of materials until we finally arrived at this velveteen. While it was great that it passed the color-stain test, we found it was a material with a high sewing difficulty, as the edges frayed and seams tended to slip when handled. Despite the challenges, we were able to complete a jacket that I personally love and felt strongly about?a piece made from a material I absolutely “had to make a reality.”
どうしても起毛素材のショート丈ジャケットが作りたくてようやく形にできた一着です。ベロアやベルベットなど、さまざまな素材を取り寄せて色移りテストを行いましたが、ソフトビニールとの相性でなかなか合格できず…。それでも諦めず、何種類もの素材でテストを繰り返した結果、ようやくこの別珍にたどり着きました。色移りテストをクリアしたのは良かったのですが、実際に扱ってみると生地端のほつれや縫いズレを起こすという、縫製難度も高い素材でした。それでも「これは絶対に形にしたい」と思える素材で、個人的にとても気に入ったジャケットを完成させることができました。
